Located in an unassuming strip mall is this little gem of a café. Once you enter, the interior vastly differs from the plain building in which it resides. The ceilings are adorned with crystal chandeliers, and the walls are covered in flowers and neon signs that beg for an Instagram moment. It's girly but clean and modern, with neon signs nestled in the flowers adorning the walls.
Lola's was started by two female entrepreneurs, Lin Jerome and Alexandra Lourdes. They created a local marketing agency and worked tirelessly at coffee shops around the valley. They were not inspired by the feel of these shops and used that as inspiration to create a space that would inspire them. They then partnered up with their restauranteur husbands Steve Jerome former restaurant GM for Wolfgang Puck and managing partner of Blau and Associates, and Michael Santos former COO of Raising Canes, to launch Café Lola. The team has now created Refined Restaurant Group, which is home to Café Lola and their sister concepts Saint Honore Doughnuts and Beignets, Pizza Anonymous, 3 Little Chicks, and LolaXO. The café also gained national attention when Food Network Magazine called it one of the most instagramable restaurants in the country.
Café Lola offers many options for breakfast and lunch, along with a full beverage menu featuring coffee, teas, and even some bubbly cocktails for good measure. You can nosh on custom charcuterie boards, decadent waffles, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and more. It's an ideal spot for brunch.
Lola's offers afternoon tea on the menu, and during our visit that is exactly what my friend and I decided to order. We chose our pot of tea (Earl Grey), and they brought it out in a beautiful teapot with two ornate tea cups to match. Then, they brought out the chef's selection of assorted snacks and pastries. It was served on a three-tiered tray of pink dishes with gold accents. The trays were stacked with macarons, doughnuts, cupcakes, egg salad sandwiches, and smoked salmon and cream cheese open-faced sandwiches. It was an impressive spread, decadent and lifting of the pinky finger worthy. It was definitely an experience that I would put on repeat. The only part of the space is this is another order at the counter. Put your table number on the table, and for the most part, serve yourself. This old-fashioned foodie prefers to get served from beginning to end, but that could be my age showing. Café Lola is a fun girlie destination that no man should be afraid of treating his lady to. Visit them and snap one for your feed. You will be glad you did.
