Tucked back in an office complex, Vintner Grill is not what you'd expect from the outside. Once you enter, you are taken in by this restaurant's warm and inviting vibe. Beautiful floral displays, cushion booths, an old-fashioned wood-crafted bar, and modern lighting fill the space. They even have big-screen TVs that screen classic movies while you dine. The atmosphere is perfect without being overly noisy. They also have a beautiful patio area just as nicely appointed with outdoor fireplaces and candlelight when the weather permits.
We started with their sweet butter lettuce salad served with warm brie, carrots, cherry tomatoes, and an orange balsamic vinegarette. It was the perfect mix of freshness and the rich luxury of the warm cheese. Next, we got an order of their grilled octopus complimented perfectly with some roasted baby potatoes, celery leaves, spicy oil, and dollops of lemon aioli. It was cooked brilliantly and tenderly melted in the mouth. We shared the braised lamb Bolognese with black pepper tagliatelle, truffled ricotta, and freshly grated nutmeg for our main course. Upon serving, our waiter asked if we would like it topped with fresh parmesan. Do yourself a favor and say yes whenever this question is asked. The pasta was rich and comforting, with ribbons of tender noodles topped with tender lamb and rich truffled cheese. It was incredible. The only problem that I had was wondering how I'd be able to order anything else during our return visit. It was that good.
Vintner is a classic restaurant with high-end service and surroundings that make you feel as though you've been put on the VIP list for the duration of your meal. This place is popular, so don't think you can just breeze on in. Reservations are a must, even on a Monday afternoon, believe it or not.
