Jesus Christ Superstar

Fresh off a hit run in London, this Olivier Award-winning new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s groundbreaking musical heads out on tour. Putting together biblical drama with a propulsive rock and funk score, director Timothy Sheader reinvents the story of Jesus for the modern age, paring back the more overblown aspects of the original for a genuinely rocking show.

Initially starting life in 1970 as a concept album, “Jesus Christ Superstar” was Andrew Llyod Webber’s first to debut on Broadway ahead of London in 1971. Featuring the well-known hits “Superstar” and “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” is a tremendously powerful musical that retains a large fan base the world over.

A bombastic rock opera based on the gospels, “Jesus Christ Superstar” portrays the last week of Jesus’ life, heavily focusing on his relationship with Judas Iscariot. Imbued with modern sensibilities and contemporary political and social themes, this show is about a very human Jesus Christ, one who must reckon with his impending death.

Jesus Christ Superstar performs November 5 - 10, and tickets start at $30 and are available at las-vegas-theater.com.

Atomic Saloon Show

“Atomic Saloon Show” is like Blazing Saddles meets “America’s Got Talent” meets Westworld. Spiegelworld presented the world premiere of “Atomic Saloon Show” at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and following its season in the Assembly’s Palais du Variété Spiegeltent, the fast, funny, adults-only circus-variety show takes up residency on the Las Vegas Strip from September 2019 to March 2020.

Could this be the wildest watering hole in town? The government acquired her first hotel as an atomic bomb test site, but decades later, Boozy Skunkton has returned. She has collected the “most abnormally sexy but sensationally amoral” troupe of entertainers on earth and is determined to create the greatest saloon show the world has ever known. With an international cast of comic actors, variety acts and acrobats, “Atomic Saloon Show” will take audiences to the Wild West as it never was.

Atomic Saloon Show performs Thursday - Tuesday and tickets start at $68 and are available at spiegelworld.com.
