Frankie Moreno Vodka
BY VEGAS FOOD NERD

Frankie Moreno started his career at a very young age. A prodigy on the piano, and gifted multi-instrumentalist, he was thrust into fame at just 10 years old with a performance on CBS’s Star Search. He’s racked up many accolades such as eight Billboard albums (three of them number ones), 11 top-10 singles (five of them No. 1 hits), and an Emmy nomination. He’s been wowing audiences coast to coast with his brand of genre-blurring rock n’ roll.

I first encountered this performer at a show a friend brought me to in my first year or two of living in Las Vegas. He was in a small room at The Golden Nugget. He was famous for a commercial he did for a local credit union. The place was jammed, and the ladies were crowded around him and all of his band members. I was fresh off working in the music industry. My husband and I had just recently closed our small independent label in Michigan. However, I wasn’t familiar with this talent. So, in a very jaded way, I refused to swoon over what I thought was just a local performer. He didn’t notice because the rest of the room did enough to make up for my ignorance over what an epic career this guy had. I now know after living here in town, of how many devoted fans he has all over the world. He’s not local at all. He’s an international phenomenon that people follow to attend any and all shows that he performs. He’s played with Sting, Josh Groban, Chris Botti, Kristen Chenoweth, and Regina Spektor, to name a few. He’s soldout Carnegie Hall. The guy is a monster.

Recently we were gifted a bottle of his vodka. It’s made in the USA— ultra-premium vodka distilled five times, and varietal filtered three times to ensure exceptional quality, purity, and taste. It is made from the tradition of The Rat Pack. It is a creamy drinking vodka perfect for Martinis. It’s a throwback to another era, kind of like Frankie himself. The taste was balanced, clean, with a creamy, peppery finish. The bottle itself, though, is very enticing. It features Frankie’s name with an aged looking label and a vintage Shure Super 55 microphone pictured in the middle. The bottle is hand-dipped in wax, giving each one a unique look. Unfortunately, the unique hand-dipped wax made our bottle, which we chilled in the freezer before sampling, extremely difficult to open. Locally in Las Vegas, you can pick up one for yourself at Lee’s Liquor, but if you aren’t a local and want one delivered directly to you, visit www.missionliquor.com.
