Marché Bacchus – French Bistro & Wine Shop
One of Las Vegas’ Best Hidden Gems

Recently Marché Bacchus was awarded by three of Vegas’ most notable food critics in their 2012 edition of Eating LV, as one of the Top 10 Restaurants in our fair city. When I heard this, only one thing came to mind. What took them so long?
Locals frequent this unique French Bistro, and after nine years of living in Vegas, I guess I now qualify as one, (though not a true local – born in Michigan and still miss the humble streets of Farmington), either way, my family of mixed breeds has known about, and loved this bistro forever.
My husband and I recently went here with a great couple, and we enjoyed yet another fabulous meal at this place. We started with the classic escargot. It was done perfectly in the traditional way, dripping delectably with parsley and a beautiful red wine sauce. Next we tried their Short Rib Pappardelle Pasta. It was meltingly tender and still one of the best dishes I have ever tried. My husband ordered the Confit Casoulet. It was pretty good, but couldn’t compare to the Pappardelle. Though Duck Confit, if you haven’t tried it, I am sure is a gift from one of the gods up there. So amazing, if you haven’t tried it, do it.
One of the coolest aspects of this place, if you haven’t seen it, is the wine shop attached to the resto. You pick a bottle and they bring it right to your table. Also once again, if you haven’t been here, the place is situated in a community that sits on the water. And in Las Vegas, being a desert locale, water is rare. So when you sit on the balcony and look over the water, you feel that you have been transported to another world.
In the end, we all ordered some Crème Brûlée because, well, why wouldn’t you? Crème Brûlée is pure decadence and just yummy. So local, or tourist, or food critic, get here – not because I am telling you it is good, just because it is good.
