PAINTED DESERT GOLF CLUB

Every golfer, whether a hacker or a pro, has one club that he truly believes in; that he trusts to never let him down. This is the club that he always hits straight. Distance is not the factor, nor the important part; straight is the key. Well, if ever you’re gonna use that iron or wood, then Painted Desert is the place.
Although I would rate this club high on my list of beautiful golf courses with exquisite views, it is also the tightest little baby you’ve ever met since your first sexual encounter as a teenager.
At Painted Desert Golf Club you’ll be treated to plush, rug-like fairways and greens that are mature and smooth, allowing each putt to roll true to your line. So getting from tee to green is a real pleasure as long as you do one thing right... HIT THE BALL STRAIGHT!! If you’re a slicer or hooker, you might make money on the Strip, but you’ll lose every cent in your pocket before you get to the 19th hole at Painted Desert. Take out that trusty five iron or rescue club, or whatever, sleep with it the night before and use it at this course! Every tee shot is a tight one.
Houses and condos line the fairways of each and every hole and every slip of the swing can lead you to a penalty shot. The course is not long, but from the back tees it’s a little over 6700 yards of treacherous tee shots that are quite daunting, even to a scratch golfer, if he tends to spray the ball at all. It’s very negotiable and fun from the 6200 yard middle tees.
If you’re having one of those days when you’re hitting the ball crisp and straight, you can have a great day of golf and a lot of fun playing the middle or back tees. The par fives are just over 500 yards, so they’re reachable by us mere humans, at least in regulation, and you might even get a shot at an eagle. The par threes are tough, with water coming into play on two of them. Another is 229 yards from the back tees (196 from the middle) and can easily give you a nightmarish five, for a double bogey. A couple of long par fours are good skill challenges that you’ll be happy to par.
Although Painted Desert is technically a public course, the way it sits, surrounded by homes in a quiet private community, gives it the overall feel of a private country club. The clubhouse is very comfortable, with a sumptuous feel and impressive stone wall fireplace. The staff is very accommodating and the price is reasonable. The beautiful facilities make for an incredible spot for private special events and wedding receptions with both indoor and outdoor al fresco dining. Painted Desert is easily accessible, located in northwest corner of the Valley—just off Highway 95 at Ann Road. It’s a course well-worth playing—especially if you hit it straight that day!
