SEX - THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY
By Frank Ariveso
Sex is primal and exciting. It can also be passionate, lustful, and mind-blowing. Sex can cause great happiness and also unbelievable heartache. It can sometimes push you on the road to stardom, create gossip about your abilities as a lover that can wreak havoc with your ego, and even ruin careers and lives. It can be good, bad and ugly—sometimes even during the same tryst. Sex is what we live for, and sex can be empowering, but in recent years sex has flowed over the Internet and been posted on social websites, without any thought of consequence. Very young teen girls have committed suicide over naively thinking they could privately send a nude photo over their phone to their boyfriend, only to find it blasted to everyone in their school. Even adults lose their heads over sexual desires and lack the common sense of maintaining privacy. Sex, on the other hand, has driven us to find our soul mates, marry and start families. Whether we admit it or not, sex plays an incredible role in our lives. It’s fun, it’s funny – it’s a sweet fulfillment!
SEX MAKES EVERYTHING FEEL BETTER
Scientists say sex benefits our health. During sex our bodies produce a cascade of hormones that help boost immunity, ease pain, and reduce the risk of cancer. The next time you are overcome with lust, remember you’re doing your body a world of good! Here are some examples.
Your immune system can produce 30% higher levels of infection-fighting antibodies when you engage in sex 1-2 times a week, claims a study by Wilkes University. Orgasms in men increase the white blood cells that fight illness.
The release of endorphins, corticosteroids, and other natural painkillers increased when stimulating the clitoris, and can last up to two days, claims a Rutgers University professor. As a result, that means less pain from headaches and sore muscles. He also found that by stimulating the G-spot, pain tolerance increased by 50 percent.
Imagine having an easier time during stressful meetings or public speaking events. A 2005 study found that people who had sex in the two weeks previous to a stressful situation had a lower rise in their blood pressure following their stress-related ordeal.
Cardiologists recommend sex as an exercise to enhance heart health. The more vigorous your sexual encounter, the better for your heart. Orgasm brings a heart rate of up to 110 beats per minute (that’s more than a walk).
Catholic priests have a higher chance of dying of prostate cancer. Celibacy might be the reason. Research has shown that men who averaged at least four ejaculations a week had a one-third lower chance of developing prostate cancer than those men who had sex less often. Dr. Goldstein said: “When you drain the pipes, as it were, you have less clogging.”
Happiness hormones, Oxytocin and DHEA, may help keep breasts cancer-free. These hormones are released during arousal and orgasm. A study shows that having sex more often helps women have a lower risk of developing breast cancer. Men who had at least seven orgasms a month in their 50’s, also had a lower chance of developing male breast cancer, say Greek researchers.
FAMOUS CELEBRITY SEX TAPES
Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s honeymoon sex was one of the first online celebrity sex tape scandals. Seven years later, one of Pamela and Bret Michaels was released.
Paris Hilton and Rick Salomon recorded themselves having sex in the “1 Night In Paris” video that helped Hilton become famous worldwide.
Rob Lowe’s career was damaged when a tape was discovered with he and two women, (one underage), having sex.
Kim Kardashian’s sex tape with Ray J, and it turned a socialite into a media star/reality star. She sued Vivid Entertainment and settled for $5 million.
Vince Neil and porn star Janine Lindemulder did a sex tape having a threesome with another woman.
Kendra Wilkinson tried to block the release of a video she made when she was just 18, but it was leaked to the Internet.
John Edwards, former Senator of North Carolina, and his mistress, Rielle Hunter, filmed themselves having sex. The tape was found by a former aide and led to the end of Edwards’ political career.
Tom Sizemore, the actor in Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down, released his own DVD of hardcore footage.
Farrah Abraham sold her sex tape with porn star, James Deen: “Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom”, to Vivid Entertainment for $10,000 +30% of sales, minus production costs. It received over 2-million views in the first 12 hours, (making about $120,000 in royalties in just one month).
Tila Tequila, MTV’s “Shot of Love” star, made a 3-way lesbian sex tape that somehow got into Vivid Entertainment’s hands, as well.
CELEBRITIES THAT ARE GREAT IN BED
AND ONES THAT SUCK
(according to the “Tattlers”)
A “pal” on John Mayer:
“John is good in bed. Not just good, but sensational. Every girl I know who has slept with John says it was the best sex of their life. I’m not sure what exactly he does in bed, but after girls sleep with him, they’re ruined. They get totally hung up on him and want more! Whatever John’s secret is, he should market it. He could retire from the music industry.”
Candice Houlihan on Alex Rodriguez:
“If it’s true Madonna has sampled Alex’s charms, then she’ll know what I mean when I say she’s a lucky lady. And if not, then I can tell her he is the most amazing lover she’ll ever have and she should give it a whirl. I know she’s very sexually experienced, but I bet even she hasn’t experienced anything like Alex before. What he can do to satisfy a woman is amazing—he’s very gifted in that department. The two nights I shared with him were magical, and given half the chance, I would do it again in a heartbeat—even though I felt bad when I found out about his wife. In that way, he’s just like any other guy.”
A former lover on Robert Pattinson:
“We just had this chemistry between us that made our kisses amazing. I felt electricity go between us! I’m really passionate, as is he. That’s why, no matter how much we fought, it was always amazing in bed! We’d glance at each other throughout the night, because it made it more exciting when we got home. The tension was so strong – we couldn’t control ourselves. It was amazing!”
Angelique Jerome on Colin Farrell:
“He comes across as a tiger on screen, but behind closed doors, he’s as wild as Mickey Mouse. Maybe he has lots of women because he’s not that good in bed. Maybe they don’t want to stay.”
Nick Carter on Paris Hilton:
“She was a drunken prude, who as far as I can see, did not really like sex. She relied on drugs and drink to give her confidence in the bedroom, and was more often than not, too wasted to even perform. I lost count of the nights I had to pick her off the floor and drag her to bed passed out.”
Joe Francis on Paris Hilton:
“Paris is the best ... Paris is amazing in bed ... better than anyone.”
Georgina Baillie on Russell Brand:
Byron Raphael on Elvis:
“He didn’t know how to screw.”
FAMOUS SEX ADDICTS
“It’s not about sex, it’s about obsession,” says Robert Weiss, the founding director of the Sexual Recovery Institute, in Los Angeles. The inability to control sexual behavior, even when it’s risky or harmful, has caused these celebrities to battle it or it has been rumored that they have.
Tiger Woods had a long list of supposed mistresses who talked to the media after he wrecked his Escalade, allegedly due to a fight with his wife over an affair. He checked into a rehab and publically apologized for hurting so many people.
Kanye West, the rapper/singer/producer told Rolling Stone that he enjoys pornography, but later called it an exaggeration. West also told Details magazine that he had a sex addiction. “People ask me a lot about my drive,” he says. “I think it comes from, like, having a sexual addiction at a really young age.” He has not said this is a problem or received treatment.
Michael Douglas was in three sexually passionate movies, Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction and Disclosure, where he played sexually driven characters. Douglas entered rehab reportedly for sex addiction, but said it was for excessive drinking.
David Duchovny is another one who denied rumors by telling Playgirl magazine, “I’m not a sex addict.” But his promiscuous ways ended up with admitting that he did have a problem and checking into rehab for treatment.
Russell Brand admitted to suffering from an addiction to heroin and sex in his book, My Booky Wook. Well known for his womanizing, he completed treatment for sexual addiction before marrying Katy Perry.
YOU TALK, TALK, TALK TOO MUCH
Mariah Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon, admits that he makes love while listening to his wife’s music. He also added that he will masturbate to her tunes “when she’s not there.”
Heidi Klum: “Some people are more experimental in bed and others are more boring. If you are wild and crazy, bring it on, so the other person is well aware that you have little devil horns that come out every once in a while.”
Robert Downey Jr.: “I was a compulsive, serial masturbator,” the actor confessed. “I utilized that organ and rode it for everything it was worth.”
Angelina Jolie: “I am very lucky with Brad. He is a real gentleman, but he is also a real man’s man. He’s got the wonderful balance of being an extraordinary, great, loving father; a very, very intelligent man; and physically he’s a real man, in all things that it means.” She also discussed having sex during pregnancy: “It’s great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative, so you have fun.”
George Clooney lost his virginity at the age of 16, but had his first orgasm when he was much younger. “I believe it was while climbing a rope when I was six or seven years old,” he explained. “I mean, nothing came out, but all the other elements were there. Russell Brand recalled: “Once in Dublin, nine. It wasn’t even a day, it was an evening. It was crazy there – what a mental night it was. I felt exhausted the next day - no, I wasn’t on drugs. After I came off drugs, I had a lot of energy that needed to go somewhere, and I thought [motions to waist] that way.”
Ke$ha shocked fans when she admitted to a sexual encounter with a ghost. “I had a couple of experiences with the supernatural,” she said. “I don’t know his name – he was a ghost. I’m very open to it.”

Olivia Wilde gave the crowd a mouthful. She confessed that she and Jason Sudeikis “have sex like Kenyan marathon runners.”
Gwyneth Paltrow was speaking about Tracy Anderson’s fitness method: “It did such wonders for my life, my confidence, my sex life, everything.” She continued on The Conversation to say: “I don’t play favorites when it comes to, umm, positions in the sack, I’m down with all of them.”
Kyra Sedgwick said that she and Kevin Bacon have spiced up their love life now that their children are off to college: “There’s a lot more walking around the house naked,” Sedgwick confesses.
Lamar Odom referring to women: “You can tell I’m into the bald. You got to keep it clean down there. It’s disgusting if you let it go crazy.”
Cameron Diaz: “The fountain of youth, let’s see...I guess it’s exercise, healthy diet, lots of water, lots of laughter, lots of sex. Yes, sex—we need that as human beings. It’s healthy, it’s natural, and it’s what we are here to do!”
Michael Douglas on Catherine Zeta-Jones: “God bless her, she likes older guys and some wonderful enhancements have happened in the last few years – Viagra, Cialis – that can make us all feel younger.”
Cher reflected on her relationship with Tom Cruise: “He was in the top five,” of her best lovers. “It was pretty hot and heavy for a little minute. He’s a great guy.”

Sting loves to romance his wife Trudie Syler. “There’s a playfulness we have; I like the theater of sex. I like to look good. I like her to dress up. I like to dress her up.”
Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will have been married for 11 years and know how to keep the spark alive. Jada’s advice: “Be sneaky. The bathroom. A bedroom. Think of places outside that are comfortable to have sex. Does he have access to his office? Have a fantasy date. Be his secretary! Pull over on the side of the road... Just switch it up.”
Zoe Saldana of Pirates of the Caribbean: “I like missionary and I like being on my knees, too. And I love being on top. I love doggy-style or standing up.”
Shia LaBeouf justified his offscreen fling with onscreen co-star Megan Fox: “Look, you’re on the set for six months, and I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. I think you can see the chemistry onscreen.”
Jane Fonda: “At 74, I have never had such a fulfilling sex life.”
Adam Levine, Maroon 5’s lead singer: “Maybe the reason I was promiscuous, and wanted to sleep with a lot of women, is that I love them so much.”
Eva Longoria’s favorite way to make love: “Right now, on top.”
Chelsea Handler has joked about making “friends” in Hollywood: “I think we can all agree that sleeping around is a great way to meet people.”
THEIR SEX SCANDALS
These shocking political sex scandals are so damaging that they ruined not only marriages, but also their careers.
Bill Clinton, and the Monica Lewinsky scandal, tarnished his legacy, although he has redeemed his reputation in the past few years. Lewinsky, a White House intern, believed Clinton loved her and carried on an affair right under the noses of the people at the White House, including Hillary’s. After a vehement denial, Lewinsky’s semen-stained blue dress was the only reason that Clinton had to confess. He lied under oath with the famous line: “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.” This is what Clinton is best remembered for and it may have cost Al Gore the next election.
Larry Craig had 28 years in national politics, and 18 of those were as a senator. He was arrested for lewd conduct in a Minneapolis airport bathroom. An undercover officer said Craig tapped his feet and signaled under a stall divider that he wanted sex. His political career was over.
Eliot Spitzer, the New York Governor, patronized an elite escort service, reported The New York Times. Spitzer had built a reputation as a no-nonsense, holier-than-thou family man. Known as “Client 9” at the escort service, the financial irregularities and phone taps led to his downfall. This led to Spitzer’s resignation as Governor, and his political career may never be salvaged.
Anthony Weiner, the newly married former Congressman of New York, admitted to sending sexually suggestive photos of himself to several women through his Twitter account. The New York Representative tweeted a photo of his penis to a 21-year old woman from Seattle. He claimed his account had been hacked, but the scandal wouldn’t fade. Ten days later, Weiner confessed and resigned. This year he ran for Mayor of N.Y.C. and it was soon disclosed that he had exchanged more lewd text messages with other women and sent more penis pictures.
David Petraeus resigned as the Director of the CIA in 2012, after an FBI investigation uncovered that he had an extramarital affair with his biographer, Paula Broadwell.
John Ensign, the Senator from Nevada, had to resign after admitting he had an affair with his best friend’s wife. He had called for Clinton to resign after admitting to sexual acts with Monica Lewinsky.
John Edwards, former Senator of North Carolina, had to stop his 2008 presidential bid, when he admitted to an affair with actress and film producer, Rielle Hunter, who became pregnant with Edwards’ child.
Barney Frank, an openly gay Congressman, was reprimanded by the House for fixing 33 parking tickets for Steve Gobie, a male escort who lived with Frank and conducted an escort service from Barney’s apartment. Frank said he paid Gobie for sex, but fired Gobie when he learned clients were visiting the apartment. Frank denied knowing, but Gobie said: “He knew exactly what I was doing. He was living vicariously through me. Frank said it was kind of a thrill, and if he had been 20 years younger, he might be doing the same thing.”
Mark Sanford, Governor of South Carolina, went AWOL and disappeared to Buenos Aires to visit an Argentinian woman who he was having an affair with. He got caught, apologized to his wife and four sons, and resigned as governor, but it ruined his 2012 hopes for a presidential bid. Amazingly enough, he was reelected as Governor in 2012.
Kwame Kilpatrick, the mayor of Detroit, was discovered to have a lengthy series of text messages between himself and city official, Christine Beatty. Both were married at the time of the affair. In 2008, Kilpatrick pleaded guilty to perjury and obstruction of justice and agreed to serve four months in jail, but was released after 99 days. In 2010, he was sentenced to 18 months to 5 years in prison for violating his probation. In 2013, Kilpatrick was convicted on 24 additional counts, including mail fraud, wire fraud and racketeering.
